About CancerTools
As part of Cancer Research Horizons and Cancer Research UK, CancerTools is committed to accelerating progress in cancer science by ensuring that valuable research tools deliver lasting impact.
For more than 40 years, CancerTools has worked in partnership with scientists from over 300 leading institutes and cancer centres worldwide to protect, make accessible, and extend the impact of high-quality researcher-developed tools. Today, their trusted platform comprises 5,000+ research tools – including antibodies, cell lines, organoids, patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models and more.
Many of their cell lines originate from pioneering research funded by Cancer Research UK and are exclusively available through CancerTools.
How it works
Through responsible licensing and global technology transfer partnerships, CancerTools connects academic researchers, pharmaceutical, and biotech teams with peer-reviewed tools they need to drive innovation.
By enabling researchers to build on existing research models rather than recreating from scratch, CancerTools helps reduce duplication, protect research investment, and support more sustainable science.
Academic researchers who deposit their tools are recognised and rewarded for their innovation through tool sales and licensing. Remaining funds are reinvested into cancer research through Cancer Research UK, creating a sustainable cycle in which today’s tools help fund tomorrow’s breakthroughs.
