About George
George has been working as associate director of our Business Development team since March 2023.
Our Business Development team introduce innovative technologies to global industrial and investor audiences. They negotiate and execute transactions around intellectual property, licences and collaborations. They create new start-up companies, investing in novel cancer companies via our Seed Fund and managing the portfolio of such companies. The team also attracts strategic industrial partnerships/alliances around our drug discovery, diagnostic, digital and clinical trial projects.
George completed his undergraduate degree in biology/microbiology at Imperial College London and his PhD at the Institute of Cancer Research. Following a post-doc at the Imperial College London Centre for integrative systems biology, he took a position in Cancer Research Horizons' Commercial Partnerships team facilitating the commercialisation of technologies developed by Cancer Research UK. In his current role, he is responsible for business development and licensing for the Cancer Research UK Centre for Drug Development, Cancer Research Horizons' Therapeutic Innovation and certain functional areas spanning clinical research, data and medtech.
