About Gillian
Gillian Farnie is an oncology research leader with over 20 years’ experience in the discovery and development of novel cancer therapeutics. She is currently a Therapeutic Translation Lead at Cancer Research Horizons, where she drives the advancement of innovative programmes towards clinical development.
She has a track record of delivering drug discovery assets and shaping bioscience strategy across multiple modalities, including small molecules, degraders and biologics. Her experience includes contributing to the progression of a first-in-class MLLT1 degrader to IND-stage and subsequent acquisition by Amgen. She started her career building a leading breast cancer research programme and held senior academic leadership roles at the University of Manchester and the University of Oxford before moving into translational and drug discovery leadership.
