About Tanya
Tanya Hughes is Stakeholder Relations Lead for Cancer Research Horizons. She helps Cancer Research Horizons’ specialist Ventures team fast-track breakthrough discoveries into tests and treatments that save lives by building investor, business, expert and philanthropic networks and raising the profile of the team and its portfolio of new ventures.
Tanya also has a strategic leadership role across several Cancer Research Horizons priority projects including the Expert Network, value proposition development, the translation review and On the Horizons events, all with the aim of strengthening stakeholder relationships to help drive cutting-edge science towards patient impact.
After a career in consumer brand and corporate reputation building, leading communication agencies including several M&C Saatchi companies, she returned to her scientific roots. Following a master’s in science communication at Imperial College London, she spent three years in strategic communications for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, before joining Cancer Research Horizons in 2023.
